Deposit Guarantee Scheme Reference in Tenancy Agreement

28 Jul 2016 | 1 comment

We have inherited a property with a tenant who paid no deposit but the local authority provided the landlord with an agreement (which he signed) which guarantees £400 if there are any claims at the end of the tenancy. For purposes of drafting the TA do I assume there is no deposit and therefore remove all references to the deposit?

That’s correct, there is technically no deposit because there is no money being received.

You can use our no deposit agreement.
