Blast Films are looking to speak to landlords, initially just for research purposes for a documentary they are making for the BBC. This is a film about renting property, the growth in private rentals has seen the biggest sea change in how we put a roof over our head for generations. The programme will look to show what life is like on the frontline of the rental market, following landlords, tenants and others who work with the rental sector through different stages of the lettings process. The film is an observational documentary, not a current affairs piece which means that they will follow the stories as they find them not to a pre conceived agenda. The earliest possible broadcast would be late June and it’s been commissioned to be broadcast at 9pm on BBC 1.

They are keen to find out about the realities of being a Landlord – what are the myths you want to dispel? What’s it like dealing with the nuts and bolts of finding tenants, collecting rents, chasing up arrears? What happens when tenants don’t behave? What does the future hold? Are you affected by the new welfare reforms? Whether you have one property or a much larger portfolio, they want to hear from you.
