Ground 3 Holiday Let Notice

A landlord may serve this ground 3 notice before a tenancy commences notifying the tenant that the property is usually let as a holiday let. That possession will be required for this purpose at the end of the tenancy. The tenancy must not be for more than eight months.

This notice is no longer needed since assured shorthold tenancies are default (since 28 February 1997).

A landlord may serve this notice if they wish, though (and need the property back to let as a holiday let.)

Nowadays, a section 21 notice is easier and more effective—the full text of ground 3, schedule 2, Housing Act 1988.
