We have today completed a lengthy update of the Landlord Handbook bringing it more up to date.

The handbook is a revision produced by the Guild of Residential Landlords from the original ANUK version which is used by many accreditation schemes including Landlord Accreditation Wales and London Landlord Accreditation Scheme.

Todays release includes general updates but also a significant change is the addition of a brand new version for Wales. This means there is now a separate handbook for both England and Wales.

The changes incorporated into both handbooks include:

  • notify water authority (mainly affecting Wales)
  • Consumer Rights Act 2015
  • changes to deposit legislation by Deregulation Act 2015
  • Property Redress Schemes
  • display list of fees (agents)
  • other minor amendments and changes

Don’t go rushing to print the landlord handbook just yet though! Around October time a further revision will be necessary which will include retaliatory evictions, changes to section 21 and smoke & CO alarms for England and details of the new Rent Smart Wales for the Wales edition.
