No, a party to a contract cannot witness another parties signature.
However, there’s no need to witness the tenancy agreement unless the fixed term is for greater than 3 years. We only leave the witness part in because some members like to witness to make the agreement feel more important.
Our guarantor must be witnessed though and in that, the tenant can witness the landlord (and guarantor) because the tenant is not a party to the guarantee agreement.
