You would normally check a guarantor the same as a tenant.
You can use our tenant referencing service to carry out a credit check on the guarantor.
You can also optionally obtain an employers reference if you like by using the comprehensive option above or send a letter yourself.
We always recommend that a guarantor is a home owner (but you would have to make this clear to them at the outset). You can check they are a home owner using the land registry and it only costs £3.00.
