Gas experts want to know what landlords think about how regulations designed to improve safety are working.

The Health & Safety Executive (HSE) wants to know if landlords have had any issues with the latest gas safety rules, which came into force in 2018.

Changes include making the timing of gas safety checks more flexible.

The HSE has posted an online survey open until June 21, which takes around 10 minutes to complete.

The questions mainly cover regulations 36(a) and 36(3).

Regulation 36(A) allows landlords to make inspections up to two months early but keep the exact annual dates for the certificate, much like how MoTs are carried out for cars.

Regulation (3) covers delayed checks.

The latest regulations did not change a landlord’s obligation to carry out an annual gas safety check but gave more time for the inspection.
