Do we have to carry out right to rent checks for foreign nationals who already have a tenancy?

    If EEA, no.

    If non EEA, it depends on the status when the tenancy was granted and whether they had an indefinite right to remain (in which case no further checks) or, if they had a time-limited right to remain (in which case, checks must be done in 12 months or whenever their right to remain ends – whichever is greater).
