New LL purchased property already tenanted, if deposit wasn’t secured with previous LL does new LL need to protect?

If the previous LL did protect it what does the new LL have to do?

    If the deposit has not been protected within 30 days of being received, there is no benefit in protecting now. In order to serve a notice in the future, it needs returning in full first.
