Deposits and Tenancy Deposit Schemes (England) | Prescribed Information (England)

prescribed information?

3 Mar 2017 | 2 comments

Hello – I am about to register a deposit with the DPS, and it appears they do not produce a ‘leaflet’ as mentioned in the relevant legislation – is there a form on this site that I can complete and which will satisfy the legal requirements regarding prescribed information? Thank you, Malcolm

You are right that the DPS don’t make it clear which leaflet.

If you use our Tenancy Builder, all the prescribed information and appropriate leaflets are already built in ready to go.

However, if you’re not using our builder, the DPS provide a template and leaflet under their documents section. The following should be provided to the tenant:

    Custodial

    Insured

Excellent, many thanks. I am not using the Tenancy Builder as there is already a pre-existing Tenancy Agreement in place – I have merely dispensed with the services of a Managing Agent and am now managing the property myself, and need to register the deposit with DPS. Again, many thanks for the info and the rapid response!
