tenant left phone line live

8 Sep 2020 | 2 comments

My tenant abandoned the property (got put into sheltered housing, spousal abuse). Property is empty and I have a letter from her saying she has resigned the tenancy. I have transferred the gas etc to me but the phone line is still live. I am not able to contact her. What is my best course of action? Should I phone up the provider (if I can find out who) and tell them the situation? Thank-you for any advice.

Yes, we can see no issues in contacting the phone company to get it stopped. Not quite sure how you would find out the provider but you could try plugging in a handset and dialling 150. That might put you through to the provider.
