Not sure if you mean what expiry date should be put in the notice or how long it is to be able to commence court proceedings. So, we answer both below.
Expiry date on notice: a section 8 should be at least 18 days from the date it’s being served (which includes time for service). The date after which court proceedings may begin is found in paragraph 5 of the notice.
When must court proceedings be commenced by: a section 8 must be acted upon within 12 months otherwise a new one is required.
