There is conflicting advice regarding the notice period required for the issue of a section 21 notice on the gov.uk website. It says that the notice period to be given to a tenant drops to 2 months from August 1st 2021. However elsewhere it states that the notice period will be 4 months until at least 30th September 2021. Are you able to offer further clarity on the current situation?

The notice period for section 21 remains at 4 months for the time-being.
The reference to 2 months notice is in respect of a section 8 notice where there are less than 4 months arrears which came into effect on 1 August.
