Question

Ending a Tenancy (England) | England | Landlord Wants Tenant to Leave (England)

S21 and s8

6 Sep 2021 | 1 comment

If for example a section 21 is served and that’s four months and then say in a months time the section 8 is served with two months notice can the latter be relied upon rather than wait for four months on the section 21

Plus when does the section 21 timescales change down to 2 months

Yes, each notice is entirely independent and separate from one another so either can be started as and when it expires.

As yet, we don’t when the s.21 will revert back to two months. It was suggested October but that wasn’t a formal statement of fact at the time it was made and was only an “intention”.
