Taking over a HMO license

5 Aug 2021 | 1 comment

We are purchasing a property in Southampton which has a HMO and I am unsure what I need to do to have the HMO in place for when we complete – if it is possible and how I go about this. Do I just submit a new application or is there another route? Any advice/help is welcome  – Thank you

Because you’ll be a new “manager” for the property, you will need to apply to the local authority directly.

If you contact the local authority they will direct you to the appropriate application process.

The fact the property already has a licence, should make things easier for you as the only change is the manager.
