Duty to Provide Name and Address of Landlord (England) | England | Start of a Tenancy (England)

Tenant wants to know landlord’s email address

9 Feb 2021 | 1 comment

I am a letting agent and a tenant from one of my managed properties has asked for his landlord’s address, I imagine so he can complain about mould issues there which we are taking care of.

He has also asked for the landlord’s email address. I know he can legally have his address but I worry he will bombard the landlord with emails if he has that address. Do I legally have to give it to him or can I request he sneds email via myself?

There is no requirement to provide an email address.

The address to be provided is defined as:

“address” means a person’s place of abode or place of business or, in the case of a company, its registered office
