The Home Office has published a new version of the short guide to right to rent obligations for landlords and letting agents.

At 14 pages it’s perhaps not a correct definition of being ‘short’!

The guidance is not the ‘statutory code of practice‘ which must be followed by landlords and agents. The short guidance is simply explaining the code of practice on a more practical level.

The short guide provides useful summaries of key points that are important in the more day to day running of right to rent and doesn’t go into too much detail about the more unusual situations. For those, the statutory code should be consulted.

We also provide right to rent guidance for landlords or agents which we believe is practical and useful.
